Cantiro launches new collection of lifestyle-themed homes

The new Life Collection configures floor plans specially for career, entertainment or family

It’s about making the most out of life at home.

That’s one way to describe the new Life Collection from Cantiro Homes.

“We are launching a cutting-edge line of homes, which are engineered to deliver the most functional floor plans we have ever developed,” said Heather Jeffares, Cantiro’s general manager, marketing and innovation.

In a Facebook Live event held a bit earlier this month, the company unveiled the Life Collection’s 21 new home models — all designed for how people live their life today.

“We designed the Life Collection homes in a way that has never been done before,” said Jeffares. “Our processes started with a deep understanding of how three different styles of families move through their daily lives. Once we had outlined the needs of each family, our team dedicated over a year to creating a line of homes that addresses these specific lifestyles and support how our homeowners truly live.”

While most new homes are generally constructed with similar features — say three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a bonus room, and a kitchen that captures your attention — Jeffares said it was time to take these features and go back to the drawing board in order to build a better home for home buyers.

With Cantiro’s new Life Collection, gone are traditional home model names, which in some cases attached a nice name to the home model but one that didn’t necessarily give buyers any idea of what lay inside.

Instead, Cantiro’s new homes are divided into three segments: the Career Series, the Entertain Series, and the Family Series.

As each name implies, these homes are designed around a buyer’s needs and how they will use their house. Homes in the Career Series are designed for households with multiple members of the family working. The Family Series is oriented toward those where spaces are about time being spent together, while the Entertain Series is — as expected — for those who love to spend their time entertaining.

As an example, Jeffares points to the Entertain Series where the foyer is bigger and the entrance closet is bigger. “We don’t even call it a foyer on that floor plan. We call it guest reception because it’s a bigger open area,” said Jeffares.

Each series is all about where to add square footage and where to take it away so the home works better.

“It’s a matter of balance,” added Jeffares. “(For Entertain) You’d give more of the home, more square footage to the guest entrance and the guest reception area because you want to make a good impression on your guests.”

To compensate, the mudroom would be slightly smaller since it is not the priority for the Entertain buyer. But all homes, regardless which of the three series is chosen, retain the basics with proper space given to them. “It’s just how we played with space to support that particular buyer’s lifestyle.”

Each series is also further broken down with different options. Take the Family Series where there is a Family Centred model, a Family Achieve model, Family Flow, and Family Generations. On top of that, buyers will also have four different design styles to choose for their interiors regardless of which series is selected.

“We’re so proud of the end result,” added Jeffares. “We’re confident that these 21 models we’ve created for the Life Collection is something that is innovative, industry-leading, and truly puts the needs of the customer at the centre of every decision.”
